The Zhumell Z100 and Orion SkyScanner 100mm technically have slightly less light-gathering ability than the Inspire 100AZ, but don’t suffer from chromatic aberration and are much easier to aim. The shorter focal length and resultingly wider field of view helps, too. As well as the 20mm and 10mm Kellner eyepieces supplied, there’s a 90° erect image diagonal included, meaning the telescope is also suitable for terrestrial observations.

It is possible to access these images by selecting “Save Images & Logs” from the Menu icon at the bottom left of the main screen before using StarSense Explorer. The app will then save the images it captures and they can be accessed later. We have provided access to the images so that they can be used for troubleshooting purposes. If you are having problems finding astronomical objects in the night sky using StarSense Explorer, these image and log files can help the Celestron Tech Support Team diagnose the issue. We recommend turning on “Save Images & Logs” only if you are having problems with StarSense Explorer and need to troubleshoot. Otherwise, the images will fill up the memory storage on your smartphone. To retrieve the image and log files, follow the steps below. The Inspire 100AZ has an achromatic doublet objective lens with a generous aperture of 4 inches, the largest in the Inspire range. Larger apertures increase the light grasp of a telescope making it easier to observe dimmer objects. The fully coated lens surfaces increase light transmission by decreasing reflections. 10mm & 20mm Eyepieces The 60mm aperture is more than enough power for a detailed look at the Moon, and Jupiter and you'll see the rings of Saturn, but it isn't intended for viewing planets in any great detail.

For the most part you can add your smartphone with its case on, but if you have an extra large case you may need to take it off for it to fit the adapter. Uranus and Neptune are unfortunately rather unexciting with the Inspire 100AZ-they’re difficult to distinguish from stars, their disks are so small that they are barely resolvable, and their moons are simply dim enough to be well out of reach of a telescope with only 100mm of aperture. BBC Sky at Night magazine awarded the 100AZ 4.5 stars in their review, they said " The ease with which this scope can be set up is a real bonus for beginners wanting to start observing asap" The sky may be too cloudy or hazy. Unfortunately, there’s not much that can be done about this beyond waiting for a clearer night to observe. As general rule, if you can’t see many stars with your eyes, then conditions will likely not permit the camera to “see” enough stars, either. The Inspire 100AZ uses refractor based optics within it’s enclosed tube. If you don’t already know, refractor optics are only of 3 core telescope optics found within devices, with a reflector and compound being the other 2. Of course all of the core variations do have their sup groups but, these 3 are the core names. There’s also a small red flashlight included with the Inspire telescopes, which mounts to the centre of the hub of the tripod below the mount head and can be detached from the mount with the turn of a knob. It’s a little too bright to use as a plain flashlight at night, but the diffuser built into the tripod makes it into a really great tray light to softly illuminate your accessories without completely ruining your night vision.
